Welcome to the website of Limehouse Cut Psychotherapy Practice. My name is Steve Wills and I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and counsellor who has been practising in London for twenty years. I am professionally qualified, and registered with and accredited by UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the UK’s largest and leading professional body for the training and accreditation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors.
Everyone’s life can be difficult and challenging at times, and many people find that sharing their worries with a psychotherapist can help them to find a way forward. I work from a comfortable and private consulting room in an apartment in east London, by the Limehouse Cut canal, and I respond to all queries promptly and completely in confidence. I can offer appointments both daytimes and evenings, and whilst professional, I also try to remain approachable and down to earth, and aim to keep my fees affordable and negotiable.
My training, background and experience
My original training was with the Institute of Psychotherapy and Social Studies (IPSS), a long-established London based organisation that has been training psychotherapists for forty years. My UKCP accreditation and membership can be checked on the UKCP Membership Register.
I am also a member and on the Executive of the national Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis (CPJA), a constituent college of UKCP. I am also a full active member of my training organisation (IPSS), and represent IPSS at CPJA meetings.
I was a founder member and, for over ten years, a director of Deptford Psychotherapy Centre in southeast London. I provided open-ended psychotherapy to local residents, as well as time-limited counselling and psychotherapy to NHS patients referred by local GPs. I also worked for many years as an on-site counsellor at a local GP practice.
I now work in private practice.
